The functional properties of the dietary supplement "Masticozintm" are determined by the component included in its composition.

Chios mastic is a natural product obtained from the mastic tree Pistacia lentiscus of the Greek island of Chios, located in the northern part of the Aegean Sea. Its therapeutic properties have been known since the ancient times of Greece. Traditionally in Greece, it is used to improve digestion, and recently it has been found that mastic components can be useful in killing Helicobacter pylori bacteria and protecting the stomach lining. Thus, it was confirmed that the mastic essential oil components α-terpineol and (E)-methylisoeugenol show activity against four different strains of Helicobacter pylori, which were detected in patients with gastritis, gastric ulcer and gastric neoplasms. The mechanism of its action in this case is that triterpene acids cause morphological abnormalities in Helicobacter pylori cells and disrupt cellular fragmentation.

In one randomized clinical trial, it was established that mastic, although it does not replace traditional protocol treatment using such agents as pantoprazole, amoxicillin, clarithromycin, however, in some cases, also completely neutralizes Helicobacter pylori.

The researchers also found that participants who received mastic in addition to antibiotics had higher eradication rates than patients who received standard antibacterial therapy alone. Moreover, Helicobacter pylori developed resistance to antibiotics, while mastic did not change its antibacterial effectiveness.

Therefore, Chios mastic is recommended to be used in the diet during diseases caused by Helicobacter pylori infection, as an additional source of terpenes and anthraquinones, vegetable oils with anti-helicobacter activity. Use in the complex therapy of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (ulcer disease of the stomach and duodenum, gastritis) caused by Helicobacter pylori is possible only on the recommendation of a doctor.

Recommendations for use: to the diet as an additional source of biologically active substances that have a beneficial effect on the functional state of the stomach and have enveloping properties.

Method of use and recommended daily dose: for adults and children over 12 years of age, take 1 capsule 2-3 times a day 20-30 minutes before meals, with a sufficient amount of drinking water. A doctor's consultation is recommended before use.

Term of use: 10-14 days. Further use and the possibility of a repeat course are recommended to be agreed with the doctor.

Precautions for use: do not exceed the recommended daily dose. The dietary supplement should not be used as a substitute for a complete diet.

Contraindications for use: pregnancy and lactation, children under 12 years of age, increased individual sensitivity to any of the components.
