Extract of Artemisia argyi (Artemisia argyi) leaves – it is a standardized extract of the leaves of the oriental wormwood, the homeland of which is the east of Asia — Korea, Japan, which is often used in traditional Asian culture. Wormwood leaf extract acts mainly due to the flavonoids contained in its composition, namely: activates the protective factor of the gastric mucosa (stimulates protein synthesis and improves local blood supply), which improves the regeneration of damaged cells and the epithelial layer of the gastric mucosa.
Wormwood leaf extract protects the gastric mucosa from various potentially negative factors, such as: non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, alcohol, stress, Helicobacter pylori bacteria. Protection of the mucous membrane of the stomach and duodenum from the effects of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs is ensured by increased release of endogenous prostaglandin E2 and a decrease in the production of prostaglandin F1ɑ. Reducing the negative impact of Helicobacter pylori on the gastric mucosa is carried out thanks to pronounced antioxidant properties that prevent lipid peroxidation. By regulating the levels of superoxide dismutase, malondialdehyde and inflammatory factors, there is protection against the damaging effects of alcohol.
